Week 5: Facebook Page Components

When it comes to comparing post reach versus post engagement, you want to go with the latter.

Post reaches are always great. People are seeing your content as they scroll through their news feed. They are aware of your presence. You can see the analytics on the insight page that will tell you the demographics. This is helpful to know who is viewing your content.

While getting post reach is great, what you really want is to engage your audience and have them interact with the content you are posting. commenting, liking, and sharing are the best way to distribute your content. This number is lower than post reach, because naturally, not every since person who sees the content will like, comment, or share.

These two insights are very important for growing your business. Post reach can tell you if you are posting at the right time where people are moseying around on social media. The more people online, the more potential for them to see your most recent post. Post engagement is very important as well, and can help you determine what kind of content responds well with people, and what potentially is a total flop. It's great to have the insights to learn this. All in all, it takes experimentation to see what's working and what's not. These tools can help a company narrow in on their niche market as well, since post reach shares information about demographics.

This is definitely a great tool to better serve a company's customers because they can directly give their fans what they want, and their fans don't have to say much about it. Companies can see when their customers need and want something out of them, and this gives the company a chance to respond.

  1. In reference to giving people what they want, I also like the feature where customers can directly recommend changes to your Facebook page. It does not get any more direct than that!

  2. You made a great point when it comes to creating relevant content. Having a responsive attitude and experimenting with different content is part of the process, and a person should not get discouraged if a particular post did not get the response anticipated. Having an open mind, being receptive and be willing to learn are crucial for an entrepreneur!
